IIASA Governing Council approves INSF membership

Following the request submitted by Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) in July 2015, the Governing Council of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), consisting of representatives of 23 IIASA member countries, admitted INSF as a national member organization. The first IIASA Council Meeting in which INSF can be present will be held 6-7 June 2016.

IIASA is an independent non-governmental organization located in Austria which by employing the latest technologies, plays an active role in vital areas such as climate change, energy, water, food security, air pollution and social justice. This institute was established in 1971 by 12 countries which believed in scientific collaboration between nations regardless of their political relations. IIASA is now working with renowned scholars from 60 countries of the world, including Nobel laureates, creating a connection between different areas of science.
